iVerify Malawi talked to Engineer Alfonso Chikuni in an ordinary local phone call on Friday, September 26, 2025, and there was nothing that indicated the call was international, to validate the claim that he is outside Malawi. iVerify Malawi also found that Malawi Voice has not posted information as claimed in the screenshot circulating on WhatsApp.

Rating Justification

iVerify Malawi verified this content and determined that it is false that Engineer Alfonso Chikuni has run away from the country [ Malawi] with his family. To arrive at this verdict, iVerify Malawi called Engineer Alfonso Chikuni using an ordinary phone call and found that no international call terms and conditions applied during the call. It was an ordinary local call with local charges, indicating that Engineer Chikuni is within Malawi. Chikuni, who said he had seen the content, said he also checked with Malawi Voice and Malawi Voice disowned the information. iVerify Malawi also found that there is no such information on Malawi Voice page.
